Spirit Golden Retrievers Waiting List Policy:

Spirit Golden Retrievers will initiate a waiting list by litter being bred.  You must be approved by Spirit Golden Retrievers to have a place on our waiting list.  Because of the amount of information we provide to potential puppy buyers, I prefer that initial contact be made via e-mail if at all possible.

Interested families are asked to complete our Puppy Questionnaire before being approved.  Once approved, you will be contacted with the number of your placement on the list.

We do require a $200 non-refundable deposit to be on a waiting list until the pregnancy is confirmed by the vet.  Once pregnancy is confirmed, all potential puppy buyers will be notified and the remaining $300 deposit is required to hold your spot on the list for one puppy.  The total $500 deposit is applied to total cost of puppy for limited AKC registration regardless of sex of the puppy. 

If Spirit Golden Retrievers is not able to provide the sex puppy you want, this deposit will be refunded or put towards another future litter.  Also, if the pregnancy is not confirmed, your initial $200 will be returned or it can be applied to the next litter.

Once notification is sent, you have one week to respond and comply to hold your spot on the list.  Failure to respond will result in loss of your position on the list. 

Spirit Golden Retrievers reserves the right to first and second choices from the litter if we desire.  A limited amount of dogs are kept here at Spirit Golden’s to ensure that they receive all the love and attention they deserve.  If I choose not to keep a puppy and no other stipulations exist, first pick goes to the person at the top of the list.

Spirit Golden Retrievers will make their choice of puppy at 6 weeks of age.  After my choice, the order of names on the waiting list will make their choice.  If that is not possible in person due to distance, I will be happy to help you in your decision based on personality of the dog. 

Spirit Golden Retrievers reserves the right to sell to parties not on the list.  This would generally be for stud services if applicable or a puppy exchange with another breeder.

In the unlikely event that a puppy is returned to Spirit Golden Retrievers due to illness or genetic disorder, that puppy buyer becomes first on the list to pick from future litter.

Making a commitment to this puppy for life is absolutely essential for my puppies.  This should be a fun and exciting joint decision in adding a new member to your family.  A new family member should be loved and cared for life.  I do not ask for an initial deposit because I know that sometimes things and timing change and I ask that you not take a puppy that you are not committed too.  Due to the amount of requests I receive, once the deposit is received which holds your position on the list for a long time and you change your mind, the deposit is nonrefundable except for the stipulation stated above regarding sex of the puppy.  It can however be forwarded to a future litter.
